Dr Peter NARDAI
My name is Dr Peter Nardai, and I am a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics. I was born in Papa, Hungary. I graduated with honours at Türr István Academic Grammar School in my hometown. During my high school years, I spent 10 months in the United States as a foreign exchange student. I acquired my medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine of Semmelweis University (Budapest) with honours (cum laude). During my graduate years, I won four international scholarships. I completed one academic year at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland and three four-week-long internships in Japan, Tunisia and Austria.
After passing the competition entry exam, I got accepted to the Catholic University of Leuven as a resident in gynaecology and obstetrics. During the first year of my residency, I had the opportunity to learn the basics of gynecologic laparoscopic surgery from one of the leading surgeons in the word, Professor Donnez at the Saint Luc University Clinic (Cliniques universitaires St. Luc). Later, for two years in the row, I got the chance to participate in the daily life of a mother-and-baby-friendly hospital at Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg. For one year, I was the Resident in Charge of the Maternal Intensive Care unit there. Later on, under the supervision of Prof. Fauconnier and Prof. Rozenber, I got the chance to work in the 6th biggest maternity and the 30th biggest surgical centre in France. Here, diagnosing and treating all kinds of benign and malign gynecologic pathology was our everyday practice. In my last year, I had the opportunity to perfect my surgical skills with Prof. Squifflet and Prof. Berlière in laparoscopic and oncologic breast surgery. Recently, I have obtained my CME from the Harvard Medical School.
“Assisting Professor Donnez in the surgery theatre, being the Resident in Charge of the Maternal Intensive Care unit in Luxembourg, doing night shifts in the 6th biggest maternity of France or treating breast cancer with the Professor Berlière strengthen my opinion that our specialty can only be practiced according to the highest scientific standards and in the most humane way possible”.
